More and more people are looking to Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine for the non-invasive and effective treatment of chronic health conditions. These techniques have remained popular over thousands of years for a simple reason - they work.
The art and science of acupuncture uses thin needles that are strategically inserted at key locations on the body to help achieve balance. Before the insertion, a quick swab of alcohol will prepare the spot and ensure protection against potential infections.
A treatment will last from 45 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes. The needles, once inserted, will usually be left in place from 30 to 45 minutes. Only sterile disposable needles are used. Some needles may pinch a bit on insertion, others are painless. Patients do not need to believe in acupuncture for it to work. They just need to keep an open mind.
On your first visit we do a thorough health status assessment, and recommend a treatment strategy. The treatment process is thoroughly explained. The fee for the Health Status Assessment is $60 plus HST. Privacy is assured and treatments focus on your individual needs. National safety standards are strictly followed.
Research indicates that frequency of treatment is important in obtaining positive results. To enable you to benefit from the required number of treatments, the Wellness Clinic offers affordable acupuncture starting at $60 a visit.
Visa, Master Card and debit transactions are accepted. Direct billing is provided for most private health insurance providers for Acupuncture and Massage Therapy.
Herbal Medicine is a natural, non-invasive, and effective way of dealing with many common health concerns such as infertility, respiratory allergies, colds and flu, anxiety, weight loss, and chronic pain.
Most herbs originate from the foods we eat – berries, bark, plant leaves, seeds, roots, flowers, and so on. When combined in a formula they address many key issues that are at the root of the disease. In addition, the active ingredients are embedded within the whole plant and are easily assimilated by the body.
Patients rarely experience any adverse side effects as the body accepts the natural medicine more readily. Under the direction of a trained herbalist, herbal medicine can be used safely and effectively in combination with Acupuncture as well as with most Western medical practices.
Qi (pronounced Chi) is the energy that flows through the body via specific pathways called meridians. The practice of Qi Gong builds Qi via proper posture, soft movement, breath, and meditation. Qi Gong Remedial Exercises are often used with Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine to help treat a variety of health issues.
The Wellness Clinic's Qi Gong Instructor, Maurice Lavigne, is a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine and former Martial Arts Teacher. He studied Tai Chi and Qi Gong under two Grand Masters, Weizhao Wu of Toronto and T.K. Shih of Connecticut, USA. Maurice has authored three books on Qi Gong available on Amazon.ca: The Power of Qi for Health & Longevity; Qi Gong's Five Golden Keys, and Dance of the Dragon: Healing Oneself & Others.
